Yarn Bombing is a form of street art that is always associated with Graffiti. For many who view Graffiti as another way for vandalism, Yarn bombing is excluded despite it being named Bombing. Reasons for that could be the psychological association with yarn which expresses “warmth, and a feeling of belonging […][to a] community“.
Like Graffiti artists, Yarn bombers have expressed their political opinions through their yarn. Juliana Santacruz Herrera is a great example of a yarn bomber who have expressed her frustration with her city’s neglect for the many street cracks (nid de poule). Literally, taking matters in her own hands, she filled the cracks with colourful yarn.
